How to manage the privacy settings for your event

TicketGateway offers different levels of privacy for your events, including public, private (hidden from search results and distribution partners), password-protected, and invitation-only. On your event's “Edit” page, scroll to "Listing privacy" (under Step 3: Additional Settings) and select "Private page" to see the different options available.

NOTE: You can change the privacy settings for your event at any time. However, keep in mind that once marked "Public", it could be cached on major search engines and visible to distribution partners. Making your event "Private" after it is already published as "Public" won't remove the cached search result from any third-party pages (like Google) if already listed by their system.

1. Go to my store.

After logging in and creating an event ,click or tap your event from “Manage Events” and then select "Edit".

2. Select "Private event" (under Step 3: Create an Event Webpage).

Choose "Private event" to view the different privacy options.

NOTE: Private events are not listed in the TicketGateway public events directory, major search engines like Google, or with distribution partners. However, anyone can reach a private event listing using the link (URL). From there, depending on your privacy settings, a TicketGateway invitation or password might be required to register.

Pick invitation-only for the most privacy:

Make your event exclusive to only those you invite through TicketGateway by using our invitation-only feature. If someone who didn't receive an invitation visits your event listing, they will not be able to register.

NOTE: If you would like to use the invitation-only feature for your event, you will need to create and send your email invitations directly from TicketGateway.

Password protect your event:

If you password protect your event, your attendees will be required to enter a password that you create in order view your event listing and register.

PRO TIP: Don't forget to send the password to your prospective attendees—otherwise they won't be able to view your event details and register!
