Affiance Reveal Dates + Support Acts For ‘Say Goodbye Ance’ 2017 Tour

While 10 years of rocking is often a reason to celebrate for many bands, the mark is somewhat bittersweet for Ohio metallers Affiance, who revealed earlier this year that they are going on indefinite hiatus. However, the band did promise fans more touring before they say farewell and now they’ve delivered with the “Say Goodbye-ance” trek this spring.

The tour is split into two legs, with Sirens & Sailors joining Affiance for shows in the eastern part of the country, starting on April 20 in Buffalo, N.Y. After a small breather following the May 4 finale in Austin, Texas, Affiance will pick things up with Convictions touring the western U.S., starting May 9 in Phoenix, Ariz. At present, the final date is scheduled for May 24 in Detroit, Mich.

In their statement earlier this year, the band spoke of the struggle to make a living out of music. “As many of you know, we have always given our absolute all to this band and our fans. From following Warped Tour to promote and sell CDs to crowdfunding for a van and EP, our DIY ethos and the dedication of our fans have been the foundation and driving force that kept us going for years,” explained the band. “Unfortunately, we have reached a point as a band and in our lives where the amount of sacrifice and dedication to Affiance is no longer sustainable. Each of us have suffered physical, mental, and financial burdens past a reasonable threshold. Our dream was to see this prosper till we were old and grey and make a living from our craft, but it seems that was never in the cards for us. This industry requires a little bit of talent, a lot of luck, and mostly political favor. Hard work and talent will give you a better shot at getting lucky, but most of you know that luck is something Affiance was always short of haha.”

“It is with great sadness and regret, as well as tears in my eyes, that Affiance is going on an indefinite hiatus,” continued the band. In addition to the tour, the band stated that they may continue to occasionally put out content, but that the touring days of the band are over after the upcoming shows.
