Spectacular outfits created a sea of colour and a Caribbean atmosphere at Reading Carnival.
Hundreds of people braved the wet weather to turn out to join the celebrations at Prospect Park in Tilehurst on Monday, May 29 on the 40th anniversary of the first carnival in the town.
The parade started in Oxford Road and headed all the way to the park where the fun continued with live performances and stalls.
The event, organised by Reading Caribbean Cultural Group, featured a range of performances from groups and artists including Reading rapper Stoner and I-Ron Lion.
It also featured a dance performance and workshop from Salsa Bachata Social Club.
The team from Reading Pride also took also took part in the procession.
The carnival returned in 2017 after being cancelled following rows among the organisers over cash and a lack of organisation .
