The Caribbean Fest, which is one of the biggest carnivals in North America, is in full swing. You can catch a number of events taking place this month. As you see the excitement building for the infamous Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s popular show called the Grand Parade and the Carnival going on in the city of Toronto, you can find a wide range of events occurring on right time. Let’s check what the Caribbean Community is doing in various events in the following paragraphs:
Mindfulness Workshop
This is a full day workshop to be seen on 21st July at the venue called CAMH located at 33, Russell, which is a group tackling mindful living found in the Caribbean and African Communities in Toronto by Valerie Mason John attendees that will learn regarding things like mindful breathing, coping with fears and awareness of triggers and many more with Haitan Vodou. The campaign is managed by the Office of Transformative Global Health that works in the area of Haitian Immigrants found in Canada.
Toronto Carnival Run
This will be seen on 23rd July organized at the venue of Martin Goodman Trail based at the west side area. You will find a one KM children’s race that will start at 9 am and will be followed by an adult event of 5 km. the online registration to this event has already started from 20th July. Anyone can attend the award ceremony along with enjoying the Caribbean-inspired breakfast that will follow the run seen at the Inukshuk Park.
Black Canadian Women Awards
This will celebrate the achievements of the Black Canadian women as 100 role models, which are to be recognized and would be inducted over the Black Canadian Women Awards. This gala event will be seen on 24th of July held at the 1000 Finch West that would include the panel sessions, live performances and speakers. The tickets would start the sale at 80 dollars and would therefore benefit the charitable endeavors in Africa along with the Caribbean.
Haiti’s Role in World History
The Haitian historian Charles Dupuly explores several key moments found in the history of Haiti during the public discussion that is to be held on 25th July. The talk will be seen touching the Haiti’s independence while its role in combating issues like slavery is really commendable apart from backing for Vodou seen in the culture and life of Haiti. The talk is to take place at the CAMH at 33; Russel at 6.30 pm while the admission will be strictly based on the pay what you can.
Taste of the Caribbean
You can further explore the culture of Caribbean via its dance, food and crafts at this event, which is suitable for all the age groups and comes for free. The event will be hosted by Toronto Public Library, while the event would be taking place over the main floor of the Barbara Frum Library based at 20, Covington to be held on 26th July sharp at 2 to 3 pm.
