Tis the season to eat, drink, and be merry. That sounds a lot like Christmas but that's what festival season kind of is like isn't it - Christmas in the summertime? Especially when there are copious amounts of food to eat and booze to drink.
So much for that summer bod, hey? We love to be optimistic about obtaining it before the season comes but as soon as we get our minds (and appetites) on the idea of indulging in everything with a bazillion calories then it's all downhill from there.
But whatever, that just means you're gonna have to dance your ass off this summer if you're going to check out these six food and drink festivals:
Top of the Hops // May 25-27, Saskatoon
Calling all beer and wine enthusiasts. Top of the Hops is Saskatoon's largest festival featuring over 200 different liquor samples with a side of good times. Grab your drinking buddy and remember moderation is key.
Taste of Saskatchewan // July 11-16, Saskatoon
Named Saskatoon's favourite event for obvious reasons, Taste of Saskatchewan is a week-long buffet that features some of the best Saskatchewan food your tastebuds have ever encountered. In addition, there will be over 55 local bands performing so you can dance all your calories off in the meantime.
Annual Saskatoon Berry Festival // July 8, Mortlach
Sounds like a berry good time to me. Every summer, Mortlach hosts the annual Saskatoon Berry Festival to celebrate the Canadian superfruit we love so much. Get ready to have your pie and eat it too.
YXE Beer Fest // August 26-27, Saskatoon
Food, booze, and live music - the ultimate recipe for summer fun. Round up a couple of your best friends, make a road trip to Saskatoon, and kick it in Rotary Park for a weekend of serious fun and some seriously good beer.
Mosaic // June 1-3, Regina
Food, booze, and live music - the ultimate recipe for summer fun. Round up a couple of your best friends, make a road trip to Saskatoon, and kick it in Rotary Park for a weekend of serious fun and some seriously good beer.
